Tempered MR is an environmentally friendly product
utilising what has been previously regarded as waste
material in an ecologically sustainable manner. This
waste material, consisting of sawmill residue and
forest thinnings, uses only naturally occurring wood
glues (lignins) to bond fibres, eliminating the need
for synthetic glues and resins. In natural timber,
the wood fibres are aligned parallel with the grain
of the timber. In Tempered MR, the wood fibres are
rearranged and distributed at random producing a high
quality hardboard panel. These panels offer uniform
strength, superior performance, and indent resistance
ideal for stage flooring, excessive traffic applications,
door skins, concrete formboards and workbench surfacing.
We recommend our Tempered MR 5.5mm thickness for stage
and excessive traffic flooring applications.
Manufactured from Australian timber species and water
resistant synthetic resins to comply with AS1859.4,
Tempered MR is a tough high-density building board with
superior strength and resistance to water absorption.
The fine, densely bonded, wood fibre structure of
Tempered MR is resistant to abrasion and sufficiently
durable for use in semi-protected exterior applications.
Whilst Tempered MR retains the smooth face surface and
fine wire screen back of other Hardboard products, it
is characterised by its distinctive dark face surface
appearance. The smooth surface quality provides an excellent
base for paint finishing with most industrial and domestic
coatings.
